Introduction to Performance Capture

Whether you’re curious about the future of acting or a seasoned ‘gamer’, this 90-minute practical workshop will introduce you to the 21st century medium of performance capture. While Steven Spielberg and others have argued that performance capture is a key part of acting’s future, these technologies have already placed the movement of actors at the heart of the global games industry – worth an estimated $178 billion a year. Join us to explore principles that can support actors working in performance capture for film, television, gaming, and XR productions. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for movement exercises.
